Government cracks down on whiplash cheats

Radical government action has been announced to tackle the huge problem of fake or exaggerated whiplash claims submitted by drivers and passengers following car accidents. The government is keen to reduce the cost of insurance premiums and is working with insurers to slash the £2billion annual cost of whiplash claims – which adds £90 to the cost of a typical motor policy.

Whiplash claimants will now face tougher medical scrutiny by independent doctors rather than their own GP.

Spanish radio station settles FC Barcelona defamation claim

A Spanish radio station has reportedly agreed to pay a sizeable settlement to FC Barcelona after it was sued for defamation by the club.

The station, Cadena COPE, alleged in March 2011 that the Barcelona team had been involved in a doping scandal. It recently admitted that the allegations were not true, were based on an unverified source and were actually comments falsely attributed to Barca’s rivals, Real Madrid.

However, this admission only came after the football club’s managers sued Cadena COPE, initially seeking more than 6 million Euros in damages and interest.

A staggering 65% of Britons are putting their lives on hold as a direct result of the financial climate, according to new figures from MoneySupermarket. While struggling older Britons are delaying their retirements by an average of five years, younger people are putting off buying homes and having children due to their financial concerns.

If you just added a new cat into your home, you might be going through the internal debate of “indoor vs. outdoor” cat. Ive always had outdoor cats and felt that keeping cats inside wasnt natural for them. But then Lily has had several mishaps and Ive seen a red fox trotting by in front of of the house a few timesand I get nervous, very nervous.

My two “kittens”, Rocket and Rosie, stay indoors, keeping each other company. To give them a taste of the outdoors, I recently embarked on a project to get them walking on leashes.

Arizona Senate to Vote on Controversial Health Insurance Bill

The Arizona Senate will soon vote on a health insurance bill that has already been sparking outrage across the internet. If passed into law, it would require women to prove to their employers that the birth control they are using is for medical problems, (and not to prevent pregnancy). The bill has already been passed by the Arizona House of Representatives.
